Our Team

Amy Bare, MA, LPC, LPCS/C, NCC

Life can be beautiful and brutal — sometimes both at once. If you’ve been carrying the weight of trauma, anxiety, identity questions, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, you’re not alone. Therapy can be a place to slow down, unpack what’s heavy, and begin moving toward healing with intention and care. My passion lies in empowering individuals to transcend painful experiences and create a life rich with purpose. I believe in the inherent potential of every person to heal and grow. My approach is affirming, trauma-informed, and rooted in deep respect for who you are — your culture, your story, your truth.

In my practice, I support individuals navigating trauma, LGBTQIA+ issues, identity concerns, abuse, anxiety, and depression. I tailor evidence-based approaches like ACT, CBT, and IFS to meet your specific needs. As an EMDR-trained clinician, I incorporate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as a structured, trauma-focused therapy to support deeper processing and healing.

I strive to create a validating and inclusive space where you feel heard, understood, and valued. Together, we can explore your experiences with curiosity, allowing you to move through challenges with greater clarity, self-awareness, and compassion. Wherever you are in your journey, I invite you to take the next step when you’re ready — I’ll meet you there.

Brae-Elise Ayers, MS, LPCA, NCC

I work with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, relationships, anger, major life transitions, and the everyday challenges that can leave us feeling overwhelmed or stuck. Whether you’re working through something painful or simply want to better understand yourself, I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space to feel heard and explore what you need. As an LPC-A practicing under clinical supervision, I use a compassionate, collaborative, evidence-based approach to help you build coping skills, self-awareness, and confidence. My hope is that therapy feels like a place where you can be honest, comfortable, and fully yourself.

I specialize in trauma, domestic violence, anger management, anxiety, and relationship concerns. I also work with clients navigating life transitions, emotional distress, and feeling stuck. I offer individual counseling with a warm, personalized approach, drawing from CBT, ACT, trauma-focused, person-centered, and strength-based therapy.

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you’re not sure where to begin. You don’t need to have the right words or know exactly what you need. If something feels heavy, confusing, or simply isn’t working the way you’d like, therapy can be a place to talk it through. I’d love to help you feel more at ease and see if we’re a good fit.

As a clinical social worker, I specialize in counseling survivors of intimate partner violence as they navigate the complex challenges of safety, healing, and rebuilding their lives. I work collaboratively with survivors to develop individualized safety plans, navigate the process of obtaining Orders of Protection, and address the emotional and psychological impact from a trauma-informed clinical approach.

I am also a certified custody evaluator, where I work with children and families navigating challenging circumstances and significant transitions. In this role, I bring a child-centered approach to understanding family dynamics and helping ensure that the physical and psychological needs and well-being of children remain at the forefront.

Across my work, I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where individuals and families feel heard, supported, and empowered as they move through difficult experiences.

I am the Mental Health Counseling Practice Manager at Origin SC.  I have a passion for helping others and have provided over four years of experience making our clients feel comfortable as their first point of contact for services. When I’m not working with clients, I’m keeping the day in the life of our awesome counselors on track! I’m also a certified Victim Services Provider (VSP) for the state of South Carolina.

When I’m not working, you can find me spending time with my two sons and multiple cats that I care for at home and in the community. I also enjoy crafting, reading, puzzles of all kinds, listening to music, visiting local parks, and taking road trips to explore new places.
