Origin is dedicated to helping end homelessness in South Carolina. We assist hundreds of individuals and families each year to work towards self-sufficiency and financial stability. Our current programs include:

Are you having trouble making your mortgage payments, behind on your mortgage, or at risk of losing your home?

Financial Assistance is dependent upon availability of funding and specific program guidelines.

We are only accepting new applications for rent, mortgage, and/or utility assistance for households residing in the 29405 and 29406 zip codes. This funding has very strict program guidelines.

To qualify, you must meet ALL the following qualifications:

  • Your primary residence MUST be in either the 29405 or 29406 zip codes
  • Currently behind on payments due to a circumstantial issue (one-time, not recurring)
  • Be able to pay your rent, mortgage, and/or utility payments without assistance going forward

*Please have the following documents ready to upload while completing the application – copy of IDs and Social Security Cards (for everyone in the household), copy of lease/mortgage statement, copy of eviction/late notice, and proof of income.

Completion of an intake application will get you on the path to determining your next steps, but never guarantees any form of financial assistance.

Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Click the APPLY HERE button below where you will be directed to our client web portal.
  2. Click REGISTER to create an account
  3. Once you’ve logged into the portal, you will be asked to provide information on what brought you to Origin, your income and expenses, your debts, etc. Please complete this questionnaire as accurately as possible.
  4. The client portal will save your information as you move through each section, so you can start and stop at any time.
  5. You will need to select FINISH following the Budget Summary section to ensure your application is fully submitted.
